Solar Pond Fountain - Peaceful Fresh

So how are the cattle doing? We got a whole lot of rain recently, and the cattle pond actually overflowed. There’s water all over the cattle yard, and the ducks like it so much that most of them moved out there. But with so much water just sitting there, it smells really, really bad.

Unboxing and Components

It comes packaged like this, with an instruction manual included. The manual explains what to do, what not to do, and how much water is needed. It also outlines what should be avoided. The packaging is very well done to protect the solar panel, which is great. It also includes all the pieces you need to get started. The instructions mention that you can purchase additional hoses. These allow you to create different fountain effects where water comes out in multiple places. Those extra hoses are not included, but the unit can also be used as a pump if you prefer. This is likely where the pump is located.

Pump and Solar Panel Details

This is the pump, and it is connected to the solar panel through these wires. It comes with screws for mounting the solar panel. You can mount the panel on the ground using a stake, or screw it onto a fence or wall. These are the attachments for the pump itself. This is the solar panel, and it has a very nice design. To mount it on a wall or fence, you use the two screws and secure them here. Otherwise, you attach the stake and adjust the angle downward. Then, place it in the ground. Aim it toward where the sun is most of the day for maximum power.

Setting Up the Pump and Attachments

The pump comes with different extensions that you attach to it. You need to make sure the pump is fully submerged in water, while the extension stays above the surface. Otherwise, water can interfere with its operation. On the other side, there is a model showing how to assemble everything, which is very helpful. There are several pieces that attach to the hose, along with four different fountain heads that create different spray patterns. One produces multiple small jets, while another creates a full circular spray. You can easily switch between them by removing one and attaching another. Finally, you connect the pump to the solar panel. It will start working in sunny conditions. The spray height is affected by the hose height and the weather.

Connecting the Cord and Extra Features

Now for this part, it’s really cool because you attach it to the cord and then screw it in place. This keeps it from accidentally coming out, which is great. We recently had an issue where our cattle panel got unplugged. As a result, the cattle got into the vineyard. This makes the feature very useful. The tubing included is meant for extra water features, and you can see it right here. There are many different fountain attachments that create different effects. This tubing allows you to connect the pump to those features. For now, we’re just going to use it as is for the cow pond, so we’re going to head out and do that.

Bloopers and Attachments

We couldn’t actually find the other piece that got dropped into the pond. Stay tuned to the end for the bloopers while we look for it. The nice thing about this product is that it comes with multiple attachments. If you lose one in the pond, you still have three other options left. There was a bit of chaos, with slipping mud, wet shoes, and almost losing the whole setup. Between laughter, near falls, and worries about getting sprayed, it turned into a funny moment, especially as the sun went in and out behind the clouds.
