Pond Renovation Notes: Full Installation Record of Poposoap Waterfall Pump Kits

Last week, I received the waterfall pump kits sent by Poposoap. I was really surprised when I unpacked the package. As a fan who focuses on pond landscaping, I am honored to be invited by the brand to try out the product. This set of equipment is carefully packaged. After unpacking, you can see two large tubes of adhesive. You can also see a water pump, a protective bag to keep out debris, and three water pipes of different sizes. One of the hoses is surprisingly long, and the end is even pre-installed with a connector. The detailed design is quite considerate.

The water pump protection bag is the first accessory that attracted my attention. If the water pump is directly placed in the pond, fallen leaves and algae can easily clog the internal parts. This mesh bag can isolate large particles of debris. It can also hold stacked filter cotton in the bag. This is equivalent to adding a layer of “protective cover” to the water pump. The matching suction cup is used to fix the water pipe. It can be adsorbed on the pool wall with a light press, and the installation efficiency is maximized.

When assembling the water pipes, I found a clever design. The three water pipes are connected through a quick-plug interface. One goes directly to the water pump, and the other needs to pass through the internal channel of the waterfall body. The adhesive provided by the brand needs to be applied to the inside of the interface. It then needs to be left to stand for a day before it can be completely cured. I deliberately tested the bonding strength. It didn’t move even when I pulled it hard, so there was no need to worry about the waterproof performance.

Pond Layout and Water Flow Design

Pond Layout and Water Flow Design

There is a swamp area next to my pond. This time I plan to install the waterfall on the edge of the swamp. First, I need to transform the waterway. I split the main water pipe into two branches, one to continue supplying water to the swamp and the other to drive the waterfall. After the diversion, the water flow speed in the swamp area doubled. The originally stagnant water surface became sparkling, and even small fish could be seen shuttling in the water.

The upgrade of the filtration system is the key. Considering that there are many cichlids in the pond, water cleanliness is particularly important. I found an unused plastic box and laid gravel on the bottom. I placed a water pump in the middle and covered the top with polyester fiber filter cotton. This prevents the filter cotton from being sucked in by the water pump. It also forms a double filtration of “gravel + filter cotton.” In order to deal with possible water accumulation during the rainy season. I also stored all the power plugs in a waterproof box and placed it above the pond to completely avoid the risk of leakage.

The moment the power was turned on, the water flow slowly flowed down the waterfall trough, forming a soft water curtain. I adjusted the water flow speed to medium. This allowed me to hear the gurgling sound of water without splashing caused by an overly fast flow rate. The unexpected surprise was the water temperature control. The water circulation brought by the waterfall kept the temperature stable at around 28℃. There was no need to worry about fish heatstroke even in midsummer.

The pond now seems to have been injected with vitality. The water flow drives the duckweed to sway gently. The shallow area below the waterfall has become a natural waterscape platform for Blue Berries. It has even attracted a few dragonflies. What satisfies me most is the zero-leakage performance. From the adhesives to the water pipe interfaces, the whole system fits perfectly. It’s no wonder the brand is confident in promoting it.

This renovation is not only a product trial, but also a "breathing upgrade" for the pond. The dynamic beauty of the water flow instantly brings the static waterscape to life. The next step is to plant aquatic irises around the waterfall to make this small world a truly natural corner. If you also want to add a lively atmosphere to your courtyard pond, you might want to try this ingenious waterfall pump kits. After all, who can resist the healing feeling brought by running water?

FAQs

Why use a waterfall pump kit to upgrade a pond? +

A waterfall pump kit improves water circulation and filtration while adding dynamic visual movement. It helps prevent stagnant water, stabilizes temperature, and creates a healthier environment for fish and aquatic plants.

Is the Poposoap waterfall pump kit suitable for ponds with fish? +

Yes. The steady water flow increases oxygen levels and improves overall water quality, which is especially beneficial for fish such as cichlids. Proper filtration also helps reduce debris buildup.

Does the waterfall pump kit require special installation skills? +

No. The kit includes pre-matched hoses, connectors, adhesive, and a pump protection bag. With basic preparation and curing time for the adhesive, most pond owners can complete installation without professional tools.

How does the pump protection bag help with maintenance? +

The mesh protection bag prevents leaves, algae, and large debris from entering the pump. It also allows additional filter cotton to be added, reducing clogging and extending the pump’s service life.
